In a rapidly evolving world, the TEAM Approach answers the critical need for advanced trauma-informed care. Research consistently demonstrates that true "safety" isn't just the absence of threat—it's a state where practitioners and clients are actively engaged and empowered in the healing process, as we cannot assume we know exactly what a client needs to feel safe. It's a team approach.

If you are interested in proving this training for your healthcare or healing team, let's talk!

We can offer assistance for our clients to explore what they need to feel safe and comfortable comfortable by sharing our own sense of security and settled nervous system.

We must learn to lead with compassionate inquiry, bridging the gap between clinical expertise and a patient or client's lived experience. This training is designed to equip healing and healthcare professionals—particularly those in somatic healingtouch practices, and acute care—with the skills and confidence to:

  • Facilitate Collaborative Care: Move from a top-down model to a partnership that respects patient autonomy and shared decision-making.
  • Co-Create Conscious Spaces: Build treatment environments rooted in informed consent and mutual trust.
  • Deepen Somatic Awareness: Utilize body-based insights to recognize and respond to trauma cues in real-time.

The TEAMS approach is a response to our world's rapidly evolving need for Trauma Care and the research shows that in order to truly have a "safe" space for patients and clients to receive, they need to feel actively engaged and involved in the process.

We can't expect the practitioner to know exactly what or how a client or patient will feel safe and cared for. We need to teach practitioners how to compassionately lead by sharing and caring to understand their patient and client's individual needs.

Offering practitioners the necessary skills and confidence to efficiently and effectively facilitate a collaborative approach with their clients and patients by co-creating a safer and more conscious treatment space and experience through informed consent and deeper somatic awareness.

Trauma Aware and Empowered Modalities is a comprehensive training and continuing education course designed to help healthcare and touch practitioners deepen trauma-informed care through neuroscience, somatic awareness, therapeutic presence, and compassionate communication.

This training integrates current trauma research—including Polyvagal Theory and the ACES study—with experiential exercises, hands-on practice, and practical tools for recognizing trauma responses and supporting nervous system regulation during sessions. Whether working with clients who have identified trauma histories or simply seeking to offer safer, more empowered care, this course equips therapists to create sessions rooted in sensitivity, choice, and embodied safety.

I am so excited to be bringing Trauma Aware & Empowered Massage to Lexington Healing Arts as a continuing education course for Licensed Massage Therapists this April 17-19th!  Learn More & Register HERE
